[God, that's almost better than the whimper. No, in a lot of ways, it is better, really, it would be pointless for Yelena to try and pretend she does not enjoy being baited - she fails too badly at muffling her own (too eager) sound against Ava's neck, at those words zipping down her spine and the increased contact. Instinct, set off by the way Ava presses into her, brings her hands up to curl around Ava's hips, tight and more possessive than she'd be if she were thinking clearly.
Her only real retort is biting down more forcefully, tracing over the little indentations that leaves with her tongue while she casts her eyes up. Her intention, and she is going to come back to it and see it through, was to carry on that line she's drawing down alongside Ava's collarbone, see how far she'd be allowed to push, where else she might be permitted to put her mouth against Ava's skin (the thought alone drags another desperate sound out of her) but first she wants to put Ava's back against the wall, and she's not so far gone (yet) to not look up before she starts trying to move Ava backwards. It's a gamble but, hell, if Ava wants a lesson, oh, Yelena will give her as thorough a lesson as she can manage, and they're going to need a bit more stability for that.]
[being backed against a wall isn't something she'd normally allow, but steps carefully and opposite to Yelena's own advancement, the hold on her hips making her far more aware of each brush of her thighs against each other. having her shoulders stay solid bumping back against the surface goes against her instincts to slip out and away from whatever assailant. but here she is, allowing herself to be trapped, because the sharp bite has her heart racing but the danger is far more exciting than the usual.
the sole of her foot finds the wall, slides her leg up so that her bent knee is resting right against Yelena's side.] Think you got me where you want me, is that it...? [finished off with a breathy little gasp.]
then why do you suppose i took it, if you're so insightful? ... hm. hate, no. in my experience it mostly depends on how it's prepared. spicy is preferable to bland.
She has good taste enough of her own accord for that. [Does that count as agreeing or disagreeing? You decide.]
Hmm. [This might be one of those times it seems like she is being insistently difficult over nothing.] No, I do not have to, if you don't want me to, but I am very glad to, if you do.
I do, it's just... complicated, isn't it. [not that complicated, other than arranging it, and knowing what to say, and how to present it, and... the weird worry of what if they don't get along? what is she supposed to do if the two most important people to her don't like each other?????]
Yes, please, without the injury to warrant it. Just for fun next time, hm? [Provided Ava still finds it fun once she has sobered up, which Yelena is curious to find out.]
I love that look. [and having her hair played with, and seeing Ava so relaxed, apparently to the point that she ended up about as weak and soft as a pile of marshmallows, with willpower no greater than a sandcastle built much too close to the water line.
Here, at least, that was okay.] But I am already doing what you want.
No, you're not. Not yet. [a very deliberate pout, look how lonely her mouth is, Yelena. look how easily you could fix it, as Ava gives the gentlest of tugs forward to her hair.
unfortunately high as she is, her control over her tangibility is a bit questionable, so Yelena might have to try a few times if she does go in for a kiss...]
Wait until you have seen her come out of it before you decide this is a corner you want to stay in.
[Insert here some super badass and gymnastically insane action sequence, antidote exposure, and a good at least 20 minutes of calming down Tatiana before Yelena is willing to release her and stand back up (although she does take her gun away before she does. It doesn't leave her weaponless, that would freak her out again, but at least that much precaution is necessary.)]
Alright. Sam here has a few questions, which I think we can probably handle while we get something to eat, if no one objects? And then I have a safehouse, and we will figure things out from there. There are options, for where you go from here, but we will get to that. I am starving. [She wasn't, really, but in her experience so far it was hard to tell when you were hungry, right out of the control, and it was best to give a Widow some time to settle before planning out anything else.]
[ It was ugly, the whole affair, and it lingers under Sam's skin. He tries not to pity the girl, because pity isn't a helpful signal to send out in the moment. It's hard not to reach for it, though. Anyone with an inkling of empathy would want to pity her. Sam's advantage, perhaps, is that he's worked with a lot of forms of trauma and ptsd. He might not be a therapist, but he can keep his cool. He can keep his body language non-threatening while not dropping his guard.
He makes sure to keep Yelena between himself and Tatiana, not out of fear necessarily - though he knows if push came to shove, he'd be hard pressed to survive a Widow. Rather, he doesn't want to unsettle Tatiana, and he trusts Yelena to know far better how to keep the freshly liberated mind of a Widow from crashing out. Sam will push back against the orders of people who put themselves in charge any day of the week, but he also knows when and how to fall in line - and with this situation, he lets Yelena call the shots.
He supports, he helps. But this is Yelena's gig, and Sam falls in line with that without question.
Redwing chirps a soft greeting, then slots back into Sam's wingpack where the drone can passively monitor their surroundings. ]
... Okay. You can also just like her as a person, Ava. I do as well. She seems sweet, and it is very impressive she did not just decide to wash her hands of all of this days ago.
About that question of who is the leader, actually.
It really is. At the very least, they speak an entirely different language more than half the time - and I am very good at languages, but that one, oh no. Beyond me.
The impression that I get from most of the internet fanpeople is they have a mindbending amount of time to fawn over multiple people. If you can actually call it fawning. Isn't that supposed to be a generally positive thing?
