It really is. At the very least, they speak an entirely different language more than half the time - and I am very good at languages, but that one, oh no. Beyond me.

Sometimes I'm actually glad my life went to shit. At least now I'm surrounded by people I finally understand and who seem to understand me.

I hadn't thought of it like that, but I think I agree. Near rock bottom turned out to be a good place to find people I like and can trust.

Maybe that's the only way to find those people. I never had anyone like that when I was surrounded by so-called "normal" people.

It would be just our luck for that to be the only way, wouldn't it?
The last time I was surrounded by so-called normal people was when I was 6, so not exactly a time for forming deep or lasting relationships.

Being normal is vastly overrated. And such a sliding scale I doubt any of them are normal either.
