The initial plan was to replace John's bed with a child's racecar bed. I have since upgraded it to replacing everything in his room with a child sized equivalent.

I doubt it, he's fussy about 'the right tool for the job.' Makes it even weirder he keeps the taco shield.
This is mostly just for shits and giggles.
[And also they're already prepared in case he suddenly gets surprise opportunities to have his kid over, but she's never going to admit to the nice part.]
